It’s a good price for the item but just a heads up, this will get you by for basic lower parts installs, but the punches are super flimsy and will bend if you try to hammer out pins for stuff like the front sight block. Also, the included mallet will come loose where the head meets the handle and rotate off. I used some gorilla glue to fasten it.

If you’re going to be doing a lot of building or are doing anything with upper builds, you’re going to want a better punch set from the hardware store.

And at that rate, the punch sets from the hardware store often cost less for a stronger set.

Their [pivot pin tool](https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1007370226?pid=919925) is $6. It does reduce the chances of launching your rear takedown spring across the room.

Will this kit help me find the gas block pin when I launch it across the garage floor at 1100 fps?

If you’re planning on building AR’s, a punch kit is invaluable.

Are these any good? I bought some Winchester ones and they broke after one tap.

Who is still using punches? Doesn’t everyone know about Knipex pliers? Easiest way to install roll pins, and no scratches.

  7. FalloutRip

A pair of channel locks is like $5 and will install roll pins just as well.
