Been looking at budget scopes with higher magnification to play around with. The Diamondback Tactical falls into this category but it’s another fifty bucks and isn’t illuminated (I think). Reviews seem to think the close in parallax adjustment is far better on the Athlon and the glass is similar on both with some edge going to either depending on the exact situation.

So this seems like a decent deal for a high magnification scope and I thought I’d share and see what people think of it.

Really really tempted by this. Pretty much ticks off everything in a budget scope. Ugggh but I have a vacation planned next week and need the money. For those of you on the fence. I found a pretty good review. https://youtu.be/UKXapG76ERI

No complaints from me. Held zero fine and makes ringing steel at 300 easy https://i.imgur.com/zBBk4l1.jpg https://i.imgur.com/i3kR6pa.jpg

I have a couple of these in MIL, pretty nice for the money a little blurry at 24x but I’ve had worse with more expensive scopes.

I have Athlon glass on both of my scoped rifles. I have this exact one on my AR.

Athlon is like the Toyota Camry of optics: solid, reliable, and definitely does the job as long as you don’t expect to win the Indy 500 in one.

So real talk I’ve been looking at this or the vortex strike eagle 4-24 as a budget long range optic for my grendel. Which would y’all suggest?

    Hmm send it?
Honestly Id probably put it on an AR because Im trying to get into precision shooting and 6x is just borderline good enough. I feel like my 3x setup is good for 50-80 yards and that’s it. Am I doing it right..?
