    edit: Looks like they also come with TruGlo night sights and the version may be mislabeled because of the presence of the manual safety.

    edit 2: Upon further inspection, these guns have a bobbed hammer which indicates it’s LEM, ~~so my hypothesis is some genius at the police dept decided their DAO guns also needed a retro-fit manual safety.~~ and since it also has a manual safety that means it’s most likely the less commonly known variant V5. If you want to convert this to a V7, I think a [LEM hammer axle](https://us.hkwebshop.com/hkstorefront/hk/en/Handgun-Parts/Frame-Parts/USP-HK45-Hammer-axle/p/50214774) *should* drop in, though some other small conversion parts may be required. Please do your own research before buying.

    The DA/SA of this were $439 pre-Rona, so you’re not paying *that* much Rona tax for these.

    Do be aware that these are chonky. If you’ve ever handled a Glock 21 and thought “This’d be perfect if they made the grip fatter and put a shittier double-action trigger in it,” then the HK USP .45 is for you!

    I have all the major double-stack .45’s (Glock 21, CZ-97 clone, SIG P227), and this is routinely everybody’s least favorite of the .45’s at the range. That said, it’s ultra-reliable with just about anything and doesn’t really require much in the way of care and feeding. And lest the HK fan club castigate me for this, I have 4 HK’s (P30LS, USP9, USP9C, USP45). This is also my least favorite of my HK pistols.

    It’s essentially better-than-Glock reliability at less-than-Glock ergonomics. If you want a plastic .45 and don’t want a Glock or Tanfo polymer gun, then go for it.

    I’d just like to update this thread and say that I recieved my KI branded USP. I just converted it to a V1 style. It was ~$150 in parts (which included the match trigger). You will need the following

    (Bought from midwest gun works)

    – 216169R Heckler And Koch USP Match Trigger Kit $119.00 or a V1 hamme for $50 (might as well get the updated trigger, nomsayin?)

    She’s a chunky lass for sure, but honestly not that much harder to handle than my Glock 20 with my smallish hands. Talon grips helped quite a bit. Can’t speak to the trigger quality because I bought an Elite and it’s wonderful.
