Hunting Water Sources Early in the Fall | At the Ranch | Deer Hunting Tips | Whitetail Hunting

-

Hunting water sources early in the fall can be a great way to tag a buck. It’s a severely underrated tactic. Deer need water, just as they need food or good bedding cover. If you can find some type of pond or stream just inside the woods along some type of food source, those can be the best. In a lot of cases, deer will swing through and grab a drink of water on their way to the food source. If you’re just hunting the field edge, you may not see the deer as they might not make it to the field until dark. But, if you’re over a water source in the woods, you could be in the game.
Hunting water sources early in the fall is definitely a viable way to shoot a deer.
