Are Single Stack Handguns Obsolete?

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves asks: “Are single stack handguns now obsolete?” It’s a fair question in view of the so called “one and a half stack” micro compacts like the S&W Shield Plus, SIG P365, Springfield Hellcat, and Ruger MAX-9. These are all guns that are an inch thick or less, weigh less than a pound and a half, and have an overall height of about 4 inches. Now you can get 10 or 11 rounds of capacity instead of 6 or 7 in the same size frame. In this video, we test single stack versus double stack versus micro-compact with 10 shooters at St. Bernard Indoor Shooting Center to see what performs the best.
